Rapture is the fifth chapter in Super Meat Boy. It takes place in an unknown city after the nuclear holocaust. As a result, a lot of buildings are destroyed and mutated animals roam the streets. Maggots feast upon the city. It is infested with sawblades, heavy artillery and machinery.
This is the final normal chapter of the game. The last chapter to have the usual 20 levels, boss, and 4 Warp Zones. As a result of this, the Warp Zones and Bandages are considered to be one of the hardest in the game. Including the infamous "The Guy!" and "Skyscraper" Warp Zones. The Dark World, Dark Rapture is considered to be one of the hardest chapters excluding Cotton Alleys. Requiring tight movement, precision and masterful understanding of the game mechanics to conquer.
Rapture introduces a lot of new and old mechanics. Animals like Burnt Boys, Oobs and Maggots. New mechanics like 4-Way Missile Launchers, Homing Saw Shooters and Switch Blocks. Along with Missile Launchers with a new block to go along with them. It's considered the most plentiful chapter in terms of obstacles (Excluding Cotton Alley).
Most of the chapter's light world levels are named after terms and names in Christianity, such as Evangel, Heretic, 10 Horns, King Carrion, etc. hence the world's name, Rapture.
It Ends (the PC/Xbox Light World theme) is a remix of the original Hell theme from the Meat Boy Flash game.
You could say the chapter’s title is ironic as the word ‘rapture’ can also mean extreme pleasure, excitement or happiness, while the chapter takes place in a post-apocalyptic city.
Rapture does not have a Gameboy Warp Zone.
Rapture has two Dark World themes in the 2010 OST. One for the Xbox 360 and the other one for PC.
The Dark Rapture theme (Dr. Fetus' Castle) is remixed for The End menu themes.
This Chapter and The End are the only chapters to not be mentioned in any other game.

This chapter was supposed to have a different boss. Where Dr. Fetus would go around the city with a giant mech. But this was scrapped.
