Crumbling blocks are an obstacle that appears in every Meat Boy game, first appearing in Meat Boy. In all appearances, they are blocks that crumble shortly after contact with the player or certain other objects.
History[]
Meat Boy + Meat Boy (Map Pack)[]
Crumbling Blocks are first introduced in Meat Boy, also appearing in its Map Pack expansion. They first appear in 9. Damage Control. They will crumble in roughly half a second after contact with Meat Boy. Crumbling blocks have different appearances based on the chapter.
Super Meat Boy[]
Crumbling blocks return in Super Meat Boy, first appearing in 1-9 Safety Third. In this game, they take slightly longer to crumble.
Super Meat Boy Forever[]
Crumbling blocks return in Super Meat Boy Forever, first appearing in Fault Line. New to this game are larger crumbling blocks that can take up a 3x3 space at the largest, in addition to rectangular shapes no larger than 3x3. Upon contact with Meat Boy, they will flash white to indicate they have been touched by the player and will crumble.
Chasey saws, bomb blocks, and more can also destroy crumbling blocks.
Dr. Fetus' Mean Meat Machine[]
Crumbling blocks reappear in Dr. Fetus' Mean Meat Machine, first appearing in 5-3. They are part of the floor and will crumble ~1 second after a clone steps on them. Lava is underneath and will kill any clones on contact, leaving those tiles nearly impossible to make matches on. The block will reform after a few seconds.
