Conveyor belts are a recurring obstacle first appearing in Meat Boy. In all appearances, they are blocks that move Meat Boy around on contact.
History[]
Meat Boy + Meat Boy (Map Pack)[]
Conveyor belts debuted in Meat Boy, also appearing in its Map Pack expansion. They first appear in 4. Flying Meat. Based on the direction of the arrow, they will either move Meat Boy up or down when he slides against them. They usually appear in columns to build up speed.
Super Meat Boy[]
Conveyor belts return in Super Meat Boy, first appearing in 3-3 Push. This game introduces horizontal conveyor belts, which can push Meat Boy left or right. Vertical conveyor belts now have greater launch speed when moving upwards.
Super Meat Boy Forever[]
Conveyor belts return in Super Meat Boy Forever, first appearing in People Mover. This game features three types of conveyor belts, which can move the player either left, right up, or down:
- Green: The weakest. Meat Boy runs slower when going against the belt.
- Yellow: Medium strength. Meat Boy runs in place when going against the belt.
- Red: The strongest. Meat Boy runs backwards when going against the belt.
All three types have new properties different than in Super Meat Boy. Wall-jumps are elevated or lowered when wall-jumping off of a conveyor belt going up or down respectively, and bumping Meat Boy's head on a conveyor belt gives a boost to his midair speed
Trivia[]
