Break the Slugger is the Warp Zone level of Chipper Grove in Super Meat Boy Forever, and the first Warp Zone in the game overall. It can be found in any level of the chapter, dependent on the player's seed.
The Warp Zone features Lil' Slugger, which needs to be destroyed within the time limit via a Street Fighter-style minigame. The player plays as Classic Boy, Classic Girl, or Classic Dr. Fetus, depending on the character selected when entering the Warp Zone.
Completion of this Warp Zone unlocks 0x6F79206B6E616854 in 0xDEADBEEF. Getting a high score as Classic Boy or Classic Girl unlocks the character used. Completing the Warp Zone as Classic Dr. Fetus unlocks him as well.
Strategy[]
The player has 20 seconds to defeat Lil' Slugger. It will take 36 hits before being defeated.
The player will run towards the Slugger and be able to attack it continuously with punches. After a few seconds, it will turn, killing the player if it comes in contact with the saw. When this happens, the player will need to quicly dive before they are killed.
Each successful hit gives the player 1000 points. The player also gets 1000 points for every remaining second after the Slugger is destroyed.
High Score![]
The "high score" of the level is 43000. It does not update if a higher score is achieved. With the damage to Lil' Slugger giving 36000 points, 8000 points are required from the time bonus, meaning the Slugger must be defeated with at least 8 seconds remaining.
Getting a high score by completing the Warp Zone the normal way is extremely difficult. The easiest way to get a high score is by hitting the Slugger low enough to prevent getting killed when it turns, allowing for continuous hits until its defeat.
